MANILA, Philippines – The six-time National University champions clinched their 98th straight win, while the University of Santo Tomas shared a 2-0 lead as they overcame separate opponents on Wednesday in UAAP Season 85 women’s basketball tournament at the UST Quadricentennial Pavillion Tuesday.
Ann Pingol brought in 17 points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists as NU beat Ateneo, 89-52, for their second win of the season.
Clarin maintained her fine play for the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points, three rebounds, two steals and one assist. Annick Tiky was also instrumental with 13 points and eight pounds, while Mikka Cacho also scored 13 to send the Blue Eagles to their first defeat.
“It is difficult to play a team with such great talent as Ateneo.
