Padres star SS Fernando Tatis Jr. will begin rehabilitating assignments later this week
San Diego Padres Substitute star Fernando Tatis Jr took the important step back on the pitch after being cleared to practice hitting the ball directly on the pitch. August 1st.
Tatis seems poised to take another leap in his recovery from surgery in March to repair his broken wrist.
On Friday, the manager Padres Bob Melvin says Tatis will begin his rehab mission with Double-A San Antonio later this week.
Melvin added that Tatis will play multiple positions with San Antonio, including winger, central midfielder and designated header.

When Tatis returns, he will join the new Padres squad, which includes the additions of first-team player Josh Bell and superstar midfielder Juan Soto. Padres got the All-Star duo in one blockbuster deal with the Washington Nationals ahead of Tuesday’s MLB trade deadline.
