Padres star SS Fernando Tatis Jr. will begin rehabilitating assignments later this week


San Diego Padres Substitute star Fernando Tatis Jr took the important step back on the pitch after being cleared to practice hitting the ball directly on the pitch. August 1st.

Tatis seems poised to take another leap in his recovery from surgery in March to repair his broken wrist.

On Friday, the manager Padres Bob Melvin says Tatis will begin his rehab mission with Double-A San Antonio later this week.

Melvin added that Tatis will play multiple positions with San Antonio, including winger, central midfielder and designated header.
