TV presenter Phillip Schofield’s brother forced a teenage boy to watch pornography and sexually abused the boy, a court has heard.
Timothy Schofield is accused of committing 11 sex crimes between October 2016 and October 2019 – the most serious charge involving child sex acts.
The 54-year-old civilian police officer denies three counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, three counts of engaging in sexual activity in front of a child, three counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity and two charges of sexual acts with children. a child.
The accuser told Exeter Crown Court he felt “emotionally blackmailed” by Schofield for engaging in sexual acts.
The complainant said “emotionally, we can’t hide from what we have to do” and there is “a lot of pressure and expectations on me to accomplish what is asked and desired”.
“I feel that’s why I feel compelled to participate.”
Schofield “did not dispute” that he and the complainant viewed pornography together and that they would “masturbate” in doing so, but disputed “when it started,” according to Schofield’s attorney, Peter Binder.
The complainant told the court he was about 13 years old when Schofield’s alleged offense began.
But Mr Binder said: “It’s his. [Schofield’s] where do you exaggerate the length of time this practice takes place, that it only lasted 18 months or so from when you were 16 to about 17 and a half years old and that’s true, isn’t it?”
The complainant replied that the attorney’s statement was “completely untrue and false”.
The court had previously tried Schofield, from Bath, for the alleged attacks while working for Avon and Somerset Police as an IT technician.
His brother Phillip Schofield, 60, did not appear on Tuesday on his ITV show This Morning. The studio said he’ll be taking a “pre-planned leave” this week.
