Pilot meets Speaker, Congress MLAs amid lobbying for Rajasthan CM post | India News

JAIPUR: Former Deputy Director Rajasthan Pilot Sachin on Friday arrived in Jaipur from Kochi during vigorous lobbying in Parliament for the post of chief minister after Ashok Gehlot announced the National Assembly’s decision to run for president, and rushed to meet the Speaker and the MLA party during the congress.
The pilot is in Kochi participating in the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ commanded by Rahul Gandhi. The pilot, who arrived in Jaipur in the afternoon, went straight to the conference in which the session was taking place and met CP Speaker Joshi and party chief Mahesh Joshi in the back room. He also interacted with all the party MLAs present.
After Gehlot said the next CM would be decided by the senior congressional commander in consultation with party MLAs, Pilot is contacting all lawmakers. However, it remains unclear whether Gehlot will resign as CM first and run for Parliament or resign afterwards. It is known that the head of the party asked Pilot to stay in Jaipur and meet with the MLA until a final decision is made.
Several MLAs appear to be kicking off with Pilots with political equations changing over the past two days.
Babulal Nagar, independent MLA loyalist and Gehlot said: “When he (Pilot) was not in politics, I was a staunch supporter of his father, Rajesh Pilot. I saw all the stage and any individual with talent rises above time,” says Nagar.
Gehlot, who had previously met Rahul, said on Friday that the latter had refused to run for party chairman and wanted a non-Gandhi to head the party.
