Rebel Wilson announced the birth of her first child through a surrogate.
The Australian actress, 42, took to Instagram on Monday, welcoming her daughter to the world.
She wrote: “In addition to being proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, was born last week via surrogate.
“I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she is such a beautiful miracle!”
She continued: “I’m forever grateful to everyone who participated, (you know who you are), this has been done over the years… but especially want to thank the stunning representative of me who carried her and gave birth to her with such kindness and care Thank you for helping me start my own family, what a wonderful gift BEST gift ! !
“I’m ready to give baby Roycie all the love imaginable. I’m learning quickly… a lot of respect for all the moms out there! Proud to be a part of it! your club.”
The Pitch Perfect star had previously spoken publicly about wanting to have children, revealing that she had frozen her eggs in 2019.
She described the move as a “backup plan”, telling a radio show: “Women in careers now have many options. I think a lot of women are in their 30s and if they can do it, in your 40s should think about doing it now. . A lot of my friends in Hollywood are doing it.”
Ms. Wilson revealed in June that she was in a relationship with a woman, Ramona Agruma, who owns a clothing brand.
The Bridesmaids star joins a growing list of celebrities who have adopted children through surrogacy.
In January, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra announcement of birth of their first child through this method.
Elton John and David Furnish also had two sons in the same process.
