According to the show’s diary, the series “will take viewers back to an era when great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell, unlikely heroes were tested, hoped to be. hung by the finest ropes and the greatest villain ever oozing out of Tolkien’s pen threatening to cover the world in darkness. Set in an era of relative peace, the film follows a group of characters, both familiar and new, as they face a terrifying re-emergence of evil in Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the capital Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will create legacies that last long after they’ve gone.”

Amazon spent $465 million on the series’ first season, which was filmed in New Zealand. The e-commerce giant also plans to shoot five potential seasons and possible spin-off series in the country.

The first Ring of Power The trailer was dropped during the Super Bowl in February, and the main trailer was released on July 14 after an exclusive preview period for Amazon Prime members. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premieres September 1 at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime Video.
