Recruiting solve defense Jason Moore start early but Hyattsville (Md.) star DeMatha isn’t in a hurry in the process. The Rivals100 prospect landed a few college games last season but has saved most of his visits for this spring, choosing to use his official visits for upcoming trips. Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Marylandand Ohio State.
Notre Dame seemed likely to get in early but Ohio State was able to win over Moore and his family. Moore failed in his decision to commit the Buckeyes to Rivals.com.
“I just felt it was the best place to develop me as someone who became the best version of myself on and off the pitch,” Moore said. “I feel like every day I’m going to have a support system around to motivate me and I have people that really develop me on the pitch. Also, there’s a lot of tough people that come to me every year, I feel Seeing that definitely motivates me to be better every day.It’s really big for me.
“It was definitely tough,” he said of his decision. “I had a lot of second thoughts. After each visit, I thought it was school. After this last visit, I really spent time with my family and we all decided that we should. believe that it is the most suitable place for me to grow as a man.
“Coach Larry Johnson is definitely a big influence,” Moore said. “Just seeing everything he’s done, the respect he has from people and the trust he has, so I put a lot of faith in him to develop me inside and out. pitch like a man and make me the best version of myself.
“They are definitely working every day,” he said. “I was able to watch a workout while I was out there so you could really see them at work. One thing they told him was all the field stuff like mentoring and real internships. gives them a lot of opportunities that can help them make more money outside of the NFL.
“Of course, you’re working for the NFL and that’s the dream, but the pitch is there, they give you the opportunity to go after what you want to do in life,” Moore said. “That certainly stands out.

Moore’s commitment to landing is a big boost for Ohio State’s frontline. He joins Will Smith as the only two line of defense pledges in their class of 2023 but they are sure to attack teammates soon. Moore hasn’t been shy about calling Walker and Umeozulu the players he wants to join him in Columbus and likely both end up in magenta and gray.
As a player, Moore has an stellar skill set that allows him to play multiple roles in the Ohio State defense. A lot of his game will depend on his physical development by the time he gets to school but he’s already a pretty technically advanced guy so defensive line expert Larry Johnson has Lots of things to work with. Moore does his job well, using his hands to get away from attacking strikers and using his impressive quickness to get to the ball carrier. He also shows great balance for a player of his size and uses it to his advantage when attacking strikers slip on his way into the backyard.
