Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane, who plays a crime-solving psychologist on the TV series Cracker and the beloved half-giant Hagrid in Harry Potter movie, dead.

He is 72 years old.

Coltrane’s agent, Belinda Wright, said he died Friday at a hospital in Scotland. She did not provide a cause.
