Russia accuses Ukraine of killing 14 in ‘deliberate’ strike on hospital

Russia accusation Ukrainian army deliberately attacked a hospital in a Russian-controlled area in the east Ukraine on Saturday in what it said was a war crime that killed 14 people and wounded 24 patients and medical staff.
There was no immediate response to the allegations from Ukraine. Reuters was unable to independently verify the report.
The attack is believed to have targeted a hospital in the Russian-controlled settlement of Novoaidar and was carried out using the US-supplied HIMARS missile launch system. Department of Defense said in a statement.
“A deliberate missile attack on an operating civilian medical facility is certainly a grave war crime by Kiev regime,” said the defense ministry.
“All those involved in the planning and execution of this crime will be found and held accountable.”
Civilian and military medical personnel worked in the hospital for months treating locals and soldiers, it said.
Ukraine and its Western allies have accused Russian forces of regularly committing war crimes during the conflict that has left thousands of civilians dead and destroyed cities and towns by shelling and air strikes. Russia denies targeting civilians.
