Serving member of British Army charged with terror and explosives offences | UK News
The Metropolitan Police said a soldier serving in the British Army has been charged with terrorism and explosives offenses.
Daniel Abed Khalif, of Beaconside, Stafford, has been charged over two incidents in Staffordshire in August 2021 and January this year.
He was charged with “exploiting or attempting to obtain information of a type likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing to commit an act of terrorism” in the Beaconside area in August 2021.
He is also accused of placing an article “with the intention of causing others to believe that the said article has the potential to explode or catch fire and thereby cause personal injury or property damage” involving a incident in the same area on or before. January 2 of this year.
Khalif is in police custody and will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court tomorrow.
