In the caption of the video that is currently going viral, Jeezy explains the situation in more detail, saying:
“I will keep posting this, because this makes me so hot. We were on our way out of the sesame place and the kids wanted to stop to see the characters. This KILLER blatantly told us kids NO and went to hug the white girl next to us! “
WTF?! Unfortunately, as Jeezy tries to find some answers about what just happened, her insecurity about the situation grows, she continues:
“Then when I complained about it, they looked at me like I was crazy. I asked the woman what character it was and if I wanted to see a supervisor and she told me SHE DON’T KNOW!! I will never set foot to @sesameplace again! And please repost this. In fact, I return my money
very angry, I stopped the video but I was so angry when he blatantly told them no”
To date, the video has raked in thousands of views, with hundreds of viewers sharing their disappointment in the comments. Even Destiny’s ChildThe Kelly Rowland star was fed up after watching it! She retweeted the clip to her Instagram Story on Sunday, expressing Newsweek:
“OH HELLO NAWWW!! TF! This just makes me so angry! “
The 41-year-old went on to ask the family to receive “an explanation”, noting:
“Okay then, if it were me, the whole parade would be engulfed in flames. Like, are you serious? Won’t you talk to my child? And did you finally see that baby’s face? A little kid with pink on? She deserves an explanation. Hi.”
Next night at No red carpet premiere in LA, Kelly “still sad” by the horrible encounter she witnessed, recounts Tonight’s reception:
“I am still upset. I was dead. And I know, personally, I’m going to burn this place down. I’ve said it before and I really mean it. “
In light of the controversy, Sesame Workshop released a statement on social media referring to the viral video and explaining their steps to ensure nothing like this happens again. They stated:
“Sesame Workshop is aware of the recent incident at Sesame Place Philadelphia, which we take very seriously. What these children go through is unacceptable. We have contacted Sesame Place, our licensed park partner, and they have assured us that they will conduct bias training and scrutinize the ways in which they interact with the family. family and guests. “
Sesame Place Philadelphia also announced:
“We sincerely apologize to the family for their experience in our park on Saturday; We know it’s not okay. We are taking actions to do better. We are committed to doing this right. We will conduct training for our employees to better understand, recognize and deliver a holistic, equal and enjoyable experience for our guests. But that announcement came after they tried to explain the controversy, saying in their first statement:
“The performer portraying the character Rosita has confirmed that the ‘no’ hand gesture seen multiple times in the video is not directed at any specific person, but is instead in response to multiple requests from one person. in the crowd asking Rosita to hold their baby. for a photo is not allowed. “
Huh! The park also claims characters in costume often have “difficulty” seeing characters “of a lower level”. They invited the family back for a “meet and greet opportunity” to resolve the issue. The family doesn’t appear to care about it as they are said to be weighing their legal options amid suspicions of racism, according to the report. TMZ. Judging by the number of other videos that are currently flooding social media depicting other Black child abuse characters, it seems this is also a one-off incident!!
In a clip obtained by TMZ, the character known as Honkers lunges at a little girl and knocks her to the ground with her big belly. In what world is that appropriate?!
Another video shows Bert taking to the streets beating every child – and then refusing to do so to an elderly Black girl, who is looking back at the camera in shock. And there are many others with similar horror stories. Too terrible!
For a place that only focuses on inclusion and acceptance, this alleged behavior is definitely ALLOWED!! What in the actual f**k?! All those families deserve more than an apology! Reactions, longtime readers?!
