Dhaka:

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for leading the initiative to rescue her country’s students who are stranded in Eastern Europe after the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“I really want to thank the Prime Minister that during the war between Russia and Ukraine, many of our students were trapped and they went to Poland for shelter. She also gave details about her country’s vaccination program. Bangladesh has given the Covid-19 vaccine to 90% of the population. “Usually, you know, people in our country, especially at the village level, even in some towns, I see a lot of people are very afraid to take vaccines. They don’t want to take … you you know… needles or ‘sui nai lena hai’… but we have to go after them. We told them this is nothing, but it will save your life. that way we’ve been communicating with people, letting them create people… So it’s really a very good initiative, this Maitri Vaccine itself… very good. household,” she said.

Prime Minister Hasina considered India a “tested” friend and said that the country stood with Bangladesh in times of need, first in 1971 and then also in times after.

“We will always remember their contribution to the war in 1971. And besides, even in 1975, when we lost all members of my family. So the Prime Minister then, she gave us shelter in India. Also, you see, these two countries, we are neighbours, close neighbors and I have always valued and prioritized friendship with our neighbours. ours,” she said.

The relationship between the two countries should be for their citizens, she said.

She said that even during the COVID-19 period, the Indian leadership showed their positive intentions as both then-President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bangladesh when the country was Celebrate Independence Day.

“I really thank Prime Minister Modi and also his esteemed president. Both of you visited Bangladesh as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our nation’s birth and also our independence, 50 year of Independence Day and our friendship with India India has recognized Bangladesh I think it is our top priority Their visit at such a time, even that time has great COVID-19 but besides that, both honor us, honor our people,” she said.
