Smoke in aircraft, SpiceJet flight makes emergency landing at Hyderabad
NEW DELHI: A SpiceJet a flight operating from Goa to Hyderabad on Thursday made an emergency landing at its destination after the plane went up in smoke.
Flight Q400 (VT-SQB) landed safely and passengers taxied down the runway through the emergency exit.
One passenger suffered a slight scratch on his leg when he got off the train. The General Department of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordered a probe into this issue.
Tag all aviation authorities, one passenger, Srikanth Mulupala, said on Twitter: “…returning to Hyderabad from Goa… suddenly there was smoke around inside the plane starting from Nagpur to Hyderabad. It took 20 minutes from then on and all of us passengers suffered and lost their nerve with fear. Fortunately, we landed alive and safe… But if something happens and who’s to blame… .. This shouldn’t be overlooked. Necessary action must be taken”.
A SpiceJet spokesperson said: “The SpiceJet Q400 aircraft operating from Goa to Hyderabad landed safely at its destination on 12 October after observing smoke in the cabin during landing. The passengers got off the train safely.”
Hyderabad Airport prepared everything for this emergency landing.
