Is the cat dead or injured? Lost?
Yes, the cat can die the same way Mario can die-temporarily, but not classically.
Throughout the game, you’ll need to hide from the small, hungry creatures that cling to the cat. If you can’t shake the enemy and escape, the cat will be overwhelmed by the beasts and fall to the ground. The screen will go red, but then you will return to the check point with the cat healthy and back to normal.
Also, the cat is injured at points in the story, which can be difficult to track down. Know that although you may face a limp for a short time, your cat will eventually return to a healthy state.
Will the cat survive the end of Stray’s story?
The cat doesn’t die at the end Lost. We won’t determine what happens in the end, but the cat survived to meow, scratch, and cause mischief another day.
