The mighty Thor, the divine self of Jane Foster, became Marvel’s Avengers today. Crystal Dynamics has released a pair of videos showing off her thunder-based abilities, giving fans a look at how she compares to her original male co-star.
Jane arrives as a free character in all versions of Marvel’s Avengers. The story explains that Jane has been torn from an alternate reality in which she is the only Thor. Odinson abandoned Mjolnir after A-Day, and although Jane suffered from cancer, her transformation into the Thunder Goddess stopped the disease as she fought to protect the Inhumans from oppression. One day, a Tachyon Strom caused by AIM opened a portal that brought Jane into the game’s universe. She joins the Avengers to discover the cause of the rift and find a way back home.
The mighty Thor wields Mjolnir with greater precision than Odinson and demonstrates new abilities that highlight her growing dexterity. You can check out the War Table video below for her full skill set, or check out the video below for a demonstration of the uncommented gameplay.
Jane’s addition brings the game’s total hero roster to 10 across most platforms and 11 on PlayStation, thanks to Spider-Man’s exclusivity. You can catch the list by looking at our list of every playable hero in Marvel’s Avengers.
