This Mac app makes it easy to create your own AI images with Stable Diffusion • TechCrunch

Everyone wants to get in on the AI imaging action, but if you’re intimidated by the existing options based on Stable diffusionincluding the Midjourney Discord bot, you’re in luck: Diffusion Bee is a simple Mac app gives you everything you need to create your own images from text prompts using the open source AI visualizing framework.

The application is developed by Divam Gupta, requires no technical expertise and installs on the Mac M1 via drag and drop. However, you’ll need an M1 or M2 Mac running at least macOS 15.2 – it takes advantage of Apple Silicon’s built-in AI intelligences and locally runs the Stable model, which has the added advantage of make sure that nothing is sent to any server.

You can adjust settings including the height and width of the image, as well as the number of steps the model runs through to produce your results, and the “Guidance Scale” – how important the model is on your text prompts when generating results. Note that in my testing at least, adjusting these parameters higher than the defaults resulted in a large increase in image generation time.

This is a super easy (and free) way to start playing with Diffuse Stabilization on your own, as long as you have a Mac to use it.
