PRECIOUS

Dylan Raiola

Dylan Raiola

The 2023 midfield is excellent with four five stars and this 2024 team is also excellent, as these back armors are fully loaded in position. Ohio State do Dylan Raiola leapfrogged several other midfielders to No. 1 as he impressed at the Steve Clarkson QB Retreat and several other events this season. He looks different from many other senior players in his class. Looking at him face to face, from a physical point of view, mentally adorned with confidence and his arm talent, he is the elite.

I have always liked Julian Sayin and while he won’t hit you from a sports standpoint, he never throws a bad ball. Every event, every throw is so precise and he’s so focused on delivering perfection that he’s number 2. It seems a bit unfair that Jadyn Davis third in third (he’s still five stars) because he’s had an excellent season too. But we need to order these guys in some way and this is how we feel it’s appropriate at the moment.

We’ll keep an eye on everyone, but there are some that are particularly attractive. Notre Dame do CJ Carr are in discussion five stars. Elijah Brown is leading the attack of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei and he plays with the ice in his veins. DJ Lagway has all the physics tools to be really special and has had his moments this season. Michael Van Buren is a young child but a person who really has a sharp view of Rival camp series in Philadelphia.

The two quarterbacks we need to know more about moving forward are actually from Savannah, Ga., During Calvary Day’s Jake Merklinger and State of Florida do Luke Kromenhoek. Both have the potential for rapid growth.

RUN again

Jerrick Gibson

Jerrick Gibson (Kid Ryno / Rivals.com)

This back-running group is fun – and once again dominated by players from the Southeast. Jerrick Gibson 1 after countless impressive performances in recent months, followed by Florida State’s commitment Cameron Davisperson is shaken. Stacy Gage out of the top 3 because there are still no 5 stars in this position.

That second level of running backwards is really fun and someone could emerge from that group to vie for the upper echelons. My choice now is Anthony Carrie or Derrick McFall but it will be out in the coming months. Four stars Ronnie Royal has been moved to versatile No. 1 again after a great performance at Rivals Underclassmen Challenge.

WIDE RECEIVER / TIGHT END

Ryan Wingo

Ryan Wingo (Nick Lucero)

Wide receivers will be among the strongest in the group in 2024, especially with two new five stars in this new ranking. Ryan Wingo still at number 1 but he will be pushed by Micah Hudson and my pick for best-in-class recipients, Jeremiah Smith out of Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna. In group 7 vs 7 with Carnell Tate, Brandon Inniss, Hykeem Williams and Nathaniel Joseph Among others, Smith fits.

Many others are climbing the ranks after seeing them this season. Nicholas Marsh very good. Drelon Miller Really attractive and looks great. Ny Carr who can keep going. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the coming months.

Tight finishes are also good, especially in the Midwest and Southeast. Landen Thomas lead the way but Brady Priskorn and Christian Bentancur really impressive pass catchers and Trey’Dez Green is one of the nicest tight endings to pass the ranks in a while. At a high three star rating, I’m not sure Jack Larsen is to get the respect he deserves.

WELCOME LINE

Kam Pringle

Kam Pringle

Either it’s still early and we haven’t had a chance to see all of the elite offensive lineups in this class or it’s a slight year off for top talent because we don’t have a five-star in attack or defense attack phases now. That will change but we won’t force it if it’s not there either.

Kam Pringle great at Rivals Charlotte Camp but then up and down at Rivals Underclassmen Challenge. Daniel Calhoun big but he’s not too strong physically and we question his elite fitness. Guerby Lambert and Michael Uini are two to see but need more time to figure this one out.

Attack protection is impressive. Jordan Seaton big, mean, tough, and smart. Isendre Ahfua has all that invisible to be really special along the attack line. And Eddy Pierre-Louis could be someone worth watching since he made 26 reps on the bench at Rivals Underclassmen Challenge, which should have tied him to seventh place at this year’s NFL Combine.

RATED CURRENT

Colin Simmons

Colin Simmons (Nick Lucero / Rivals.com)

Another group that is fully loaded are the defensive lines. Colin Simmons is still our #1 lead but many others are pushing him. However, he is very athletic and agile, and fits what a lot of coaches are looking for in that position that I like him in that position. However, there are a lot of extremely long and extremely strong weak side defense endpoints in this class that can move up.

At the end of a strong defense, Alex Cunningham lead and he has all the size and ability in the world but this group is even bigger. Eddrick Houston looks great on film, Brandon Davis-Swain just increased significantly. Kamarion Franklin, Nigel Smith and Dylan Stephenson are all special. The guy that I’m really following, who might take action when we see him more, is Williams Nwaneri out of Lees Summit (Mo.) Lees Summit North.

Defensive handling position is interesting because it takes precedence over ability. Justin Scott will be watching five stars and we’d love to see him at some national event against some high profile attacking team. David Stone a bit short but he’s fast and nimble so he’ll push for that top spot as well. There are all sorts of different shapes and sizes in this group of defensive tackles, so it will be interesting to see it play out.

LINEBACKER

TJ Capers

TJ Capers (Kid Ryno / Rivals.com)

I like the outer defender position a lot, especially at the top with the new five stars TJ Capers turned out to be absolutely amazing and arguably the best movie of his sophomore year of any player in his class. It has been relatively quiet for Adarius Hayes recently but he is still very good and then Aaron Chiles has completely exploded in recent weeks as more and more college coaches see him.

The location of the inner pavement will also be interesting because Sammy Brown impressed with Rivals Underclassmen Challenge but Myles Graham possibly the highest level athlete at the time and Payton Pierce is a processor. There’s still a lot to learn about defenders as we move on to their junior seasons.

*****

BACK TO ENGINEERING

Desmond Ricks

Desmond Ricks (Rivals.com)

After five stars Desmond Rickswide and wide back position. Charles Lester very long and sporty but Bryce West got really impressed at certain events and then Antione Jackson, Ellis Robinson and others stand out. i still think Wardell Mack underrated and possibly one of the best corners in this class.

Safety is also attractive. Peyton Woodyard lead and he’s an excellent player with lots of comebacks. I also really like Jordon Johnson-Rubellthe people being employed are safer than they are now, and Jaylen Heyward was someone who really stood out to me, especially at the OT7 event in Las Vegas.

*****

ATHLETE

Quinton Martin

Quinton Martin (Rivals.com)

We were eliminated as athletes in the 2023 class because of the number 1 Port of Nyckoles is also a world-class track and field athlete and Malachi Coleman out of Lincoln (Neb.) East is a physical oddball but also has some superstars in the 2024 team.

Quinton Martin led the way and he was awesome, and then KJ Bolden can definitely compete for that top spot because he’s brilliant in all areas. Mike Matthews is the guy who can increase the rank and Zaquan Patterson Also a great potential customer.
