Tom DeLonge Blink-182 Substitute Matt Skiba Breaks Silence As Reunion Leaves Him Abandoned
Matt Skiba finally spoke up about Blink 182 the reunion that left him behind – and the personal letter Tom DeLonge sent him.
As readers know, on Thursday, Tom posted a photo on Instagram introduced a letter he said he had personally sent Matt regarding his work in the band during the guitarist’s absence. He can’t seem to thank his replacement enough to keep his place warm while he’s been gone for almost a decade. Notes read:
“I sent this to Matt personally, but it’s important for the world to know that I honor him. Thank you, @matttskiba. “
He went on to thank Skiba for being a member of the band and saved the day in the letter itself:
“But honestly, the band wouldn’t even be here today if it weren’t for your ability to jump in and save today. So from my heart to yours, thank you for being a member of our band. “
A super kind gesture – or so it seems, right? Well, some fans have started to worry about where Alkaline trio the founder stood with the original members of the band – especially after his silence on the radio about the reunion and his chattering remarks back in July when he was asked if he Where did he stand with them:
“Your guess is as good as mine.”
Yes, uh-oh…
But fear not, pop-punk fans, Matt broke his silence following the release of Blink’s reunion single. Rim – and he’s so sweet! On ‘gram Friday, the vocalist posted a new song’s cover art as well as a photo of herself. The caption offers nothing but the sincerest congratulations to his “homies” from Blink:
“Congratulations to @markhoppus @tomdelonge and @travisbarker on their winning comeback/reuniting and the release of a new single today!!!!!”

Moving on, he wrote how grateful he was for his time with the band, but expressed how pleased he was that the original lineup was back:
“I’m sure there’s a joke here about the release and happy ending that I’m missing but I’m really grateful for taking the time to wink and I’m really happy that you guys are one again. band and a family.”
At the end of the post, he thanked his fans for having him and sent his love from his hometown of Chicago:
“Thanks to the BAND AND ALL BLINK FANS FOR HAVE ME. You were so delicious!
