PRINCE’S GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. – A UPS driver was shot in Prince George County Monday morning and police are looking for those responsible.

Prince George County Police Officers were called to reports of a shooting in the Silver Hill Road and Terrace Drive area around 10 a.m. About half a mile away near a hair salon in Suitland, officers found the worker injured. shot and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. injury, not considered life-threatening.

The barber shop owner, not wanting to be identified, told the WUSA9 reporter that the driver was a longtime customer, reflexively fleeing to the nearest place, where he knew familiar faces, and can find safety.

Investigators have not determined what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made and police have not released any information about possible suspects in this case.

“You see these delivery people on the street, they’re out there working hard every day, doing their jobs for a living and you have someone shoot them thinking they have money or packages or anything,” said one neighbor. “It just doesn’t make sense.”

UPS spokeswoman Lizzy Crouse said the company thanked the driver for being okay.

“We are grateful that our driver was safe and we are cooperating with authorities in their investigation. Because this is an active investigation, we will delay with local authorities for any further comment,” Crouse said in an emailed statement.
