What happened to Anne Heche? Ellen DeGeneres’ ex-lover in critical condition after fiery car crash

On Friday, August 5, Ellen DeGeneresEx-girlfriend, Anne Heche, was involved in a serious accident when her car crashed into a house in Mar Vista, Los Angeles.

Both the car and the house caught fire after the collision.

According to local reports from NBC Los Angeles, the crash was reported around 11 a.m. Friday. Other local publications say the incident took place in the 1700 block of South Walgrove Avenue.

At the time of rescuing Heche from her car, she was said to be in critical condition and severely injured burn wound. She was taken to a nearby medical facility by LAFD Paramedics.

An official statement from the Los Angeles Fire Department describes the accident as follows:

“(A) A passenger vehicle crashed and came to rest in a 738 square foot two-story home (built 1952), causing structural damage and outbreak of fire big before LAFD arrives.”

According to the statement, it took 59 firefighters at the scene more than an hour to extinguish the blaze.

Other reports say that Anne Heche was reportedly driving at high speed in the Mar Vista neighborhood in a blue Mini Cooper when she ran off the street and collided with the 1766 Walgrove Ave building after the car had can jump to the side of the road. The Mini Cooper crashed into the front yard of the house. According to Fox 11, a neighbor safely removed the homeowner and her pets from the home, which also caught fire in the crash.

It was reported that the actress was awake and breathing when she was put on a stretcher and then taken to an ambulance. While the entire accident was being investigated, doctors at the local medical facility were unable to determine if this was a DUI (Driving under the influence) case. No such sanity test was conducted at the time, due to her critical condition.

According to TMZ, before the accident, Heche was found to have crashed into a garage in an apartment complex. At the time, residents tried to get the actress out of her Mini Cooper. However, she reversed and left the complex before her second accident, which ended in her hospitalization.
