What will you play this weekend? (July 9)

It’s been a bit calmer in the UK this week, but it looks like things are about to heat up again. The news is also a bit more stable. Nintendo announces a new brand Splatoon 3 theme OLED switch earlier this week. Upcoming Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion there will be some “difference” in Resolution and frame rate on Switch. And there’s a new LEGO set coming soon, and it’s a ol ‘Bowser that you can fight with!

We also had a healthy amount of DLC reviews this week. Both Cuphead – The ultimate delicacy and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak blow us away. Some of us have created together this weird hybrid console is made up of aspects of every Nintendo console. And we played some Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and we think it’s shaping up to be a cork!

Now is the time to relax and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few mThe Nintendo Life team’s embers have done just that right below, so feel free to read our articles and then join in with your own via our comments section. Interesting!

I’m going on vacation next week, but my Switch will be with me by the pool (from a safe distance, of course), and so will Klonoa. Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series! I’m excited to replay two of my childhood favorites. I need more Klonoa and Klonoa merchandise in my life, so this will be a special treat.

I am still making steady progress in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – Golden Countrythough that has to get the back seat back thanks Live A Live – which I’m reviewing (see what we think so far in our preview!). I also watched my partner play some Triangle Strategy. Happy weekend everyone!

A heat wave is hitting us, so the plan for this weekend is to stay in there, stay out of the sun and play cool video games for 48 hours straight. Nothing excites me on the eShop this week except Arcade Rabio Lepus but the physical release of the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series turned out to be a great remake of an underrated PS1 classic along with its PS2 sequel. Also, I’m still mulling over the last chapter of Chronicles of Valkyria along with a wealth of additional content.

Game of the week is… a demo? I am quite fond of and familiar with the original Live A Live on the Super Famicom, and I plan to complete the final scenario available on the Switch demo. 2D-HD is a thing of beauty!

This weekend, I’m rummaging through the archives, honey. I have a bunch of awesome Game Boy Color/GBA/GameCube games sitting on my desk, staring at me longingly – and I’ll finally have a free weekend to spend some time with. time for them.

First of all, I’ll play a little bit Pokémon Crystal – the battery in my original cartridge stopped working a long time ago, but I finally found a working copy online, folks! Then I’ll play a little bit Hamtaro: Rainbow to the rescue on GBA (don’t laugh, that’s awesome). I also recently brought home an old TV RCA VCR from my family’s cabin (where tech dies), so I’m also eager to dig into my GameCube collection about that monster – Wind Waker is an obvious first choice. Will be a very retro weekend!

As always, thanks for reading! Be sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend gaming plans!
