Back in June 2018, Jennifer Lawrence was found out with a mysterious man the Internet eventually identified as New York City-based art gallery Cooke Maroney. Early couple get married on a lavish October weekend in Rhode Island in 2019, although prior to their engagement, they had barely kept an eye on public relations.
So who exactly is Maroney, and how did an art gallery director catch the eye of one of Hollywood’s biggest stars? Below is a summary of Maroney and Lawrence’s relationship so far and their marriage.
The couple welcomed their first child in February 2022.
TMZ reported On February 24, Maroney and Lawrence welcomed their first child together in the Los Angeles area. The couple did not confirm the news themselves, and there are no details yet about the baby’s date of birth, name or gender.

Lawrence later told Vogue in September 2022, the couple had a baby boy named Cy “after the American post-war artist Cy Twombly, one of Maroney’s favorite artists,” Vogue Written.
In September 2021, People confirm that Lawrence has pregnant with her first child. She has spot strolling through New York City in floral overalls and a leather bag, revealing her growing baby bump.
Maroney and Lawrence got married in October 2019 in Rhode Island.
TMZ first reported that the key couple would be getting married in Rhode Island on Saturday, October 19. News of the wedding comes about a month after Maroney and Lawrence spot at the New York City matrimonial office, receiving a marriage license.
In June of that year, the Oscar winner opened up for Catt Sadler’s NAKED With Catt Sandler audio files about wedding planning — and when she finds out who Maroney is.
She recalls: “I definitely wasn’t in a place where I was like, ‘I’m ready to get married. “I just met Cooke and I want to marry him. We want to get married. We want full commitment. He is my best friend so I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately, paperwork exists for such a thing. That’s the best thing. You find your favorite person on the planet and it’s like you just can’t leave. So I wanted to take that offer.”
Turns out TMZ was right. The two knots at the Belcourt property in Newport, Rhode Island, in front of a list of A-list guests including Amy Schumer, Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper, Ashley Olsen, Adele, Kris Jenner, Sienna Miller and Cameron Diaz.
Before the wedding ceremony, the couple held an engagement party in New York City.
Lawrence and Maroney was photographed in early May 2019, on their way to the engagement party they threw for their family and friends in New York City. Appearance comes later People reported in April that the couple was seen searching for locations in the city, possibly for that party or their actual wedding. A source later said that J.Law is a “family girl… I’d be surprised if the wedding wasn’t a fairly extensive family affair.”
Page six More details on the engagement party: It was held at the River Café in Brooklyn, and the couple rented the entire restaurant for the party. “It was great!” an insider told the outlet. “There are tables everywhere — the dining room, the rooftop room, and the outdoor patio.” Lawrence’s good friend, Emma Stone, was among the guests, and Page six reported that the food consisted of an appetizer cooked with butter and Mandarin duck.
Lawrence wanted to keep their relationship private, but she talked a little bit about their marriage to Vanity Fair in November 2021.
Lawrence shares two tidbits about Maroney in late 2021 Vanity Fair interview: How it felt when they first started dating, and she got used to not having the security of being with him: “So when I started dating my now husband , I was embarrassed to wear [security guard] when he asked me out,” she said. “I mean, how unfortunate would that be? So I didn’t, and it got me really nervous the first few times, and it was totally fine. I realize that you get more privacy if…. I don’t know if this is safe to talk about. I always have security. 24 hours a day. And a gun! “
She also gives a glimpse of what their marriage is like now: “I really enjoy going to the grocery store with him,” she said. “I don’t know why but it makes me so happy. I think maybe because it’s almost a metaphor for marriage. ‘Okay, we have this list. These are the things we need. Let’s work together and get this done. ‘ And I always get one of those cooking magazines, like Healthy meal in 15 minutes, and he was always looking at me like, ‘You’re not going to use that. When will you do that? ‘ And I said, ‘That’s right. Tuesday!’ And he’s always right, and I’m never.”
Lawrence said her love for Maroney has only grown since the two became parents.
Lawrence made a point not to share too much about her life with Maroney in she Vogue October 2022 interview, after she decided to keep their relationship private. But she talked about how welcoming their son Cy changed the way she saw Maroney. She said: “My heart was stretched to a capacity that I did not know. “I include my husband in it. And then they were both like, out there – walking around, crossing the street. He will be driving one day. He would be a goofy teenager and get behind the wheel of a car. And I would be like, Good night! You know? Like, who sleeps? “
Maroney grew up in Vermont.
Maroney’s parents, James Maroney and Suki Fredericks, owned an Oliver Hill farm in Leicester, Vermont. Based on Medium, his parents got tired of raising their son in the city and decided to move further north to start a farm. Before moving, Maroney’s father was an art dealer in Manhattan and was formerly a Head of American Painting at Christie’s before trying to adapt to a simpler lifestyle. Maroney also has a younger sister named Annabelle.
He is an art gallery artist.
Maroney followed in his father’s footsteps with art. He is currently the director of New York City’s Gladstone Gallery, which boasts a roster of celebrity clients. Based on Cut, Maroney’s previously worked with painter Carroll Dunham and Björk’s ex-boyfriend, sculptor Matthew Barney. Before joining Gladstone, he worked at the Gagosian gallery after completing a degree in art history at NYU.
Maroney met Lawrence even though they were mutual friends.
Lawrence and Maroney were apparently introduced to each other by the actress’ best friend, Laura Simpson. “They met through Laura, Jen’s friend…. The relationship has been going on for a few weeks. But they were very private and were careful not to be seen together,” a source told Page six the beginning of their relationship.

Maroney is completely absent from Facebook and Twitter. Currently, he only has a personal Instagram page that’s just the shyness of 2,000 followers.
From the very beginning, he knew how to make Lawrence happy.
While Lawrence and Maroney don’t often speak publicly about their relationship, sources have repeatedly told tabloids that what they have is special. “She’s smiling like I’ve never seen her do anything to any of her previous boyfriends,” a source told People in August 2018.
Our weekly, meanwhile, reported in January 2019 that Lawrence and Maroney are very committed. “Things are very serious between them,” a source told the magazine. “They’re definitely going to be in it for a long time.”

Lawrence is heavily pregnant already seen with Maroney and a real estate agent in NYC on Friday, December 17, reportedly looking for a new home.
Lawrence sold his penthouse in Manhattan for $9.9 million last August, even though it was originally listed for $15.45 million. From there, she moved into a West Village property in a brand new townhouse that sold for $22 million. So far, there is no listing for that space. Potential new property could be an addition to her real estate portfolio, or an alternative for a growing family.
The couple continued to search for real estate after the birth of their baby.
