Risk! Season 39 returns with a brand new episode on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, featuring three players.
Melissa Klapper, a professor from Merion Station, Pennsylvania, is the return champion. She competed against two new contestants – Brandon Anderson, communications director from Columbus, Ohio, and Charlotte Diffendale, a postman from Albany, New York.
The official synopsis of the quiz program reads:
“A returning champion and two challengers test their buzzer skills and knowledge in a variety of academic and popular categories.”
One set consists of three rounds. The player who finishes with the highest score after three rounds wins the game.
Today Risk! the winner is Melissa Klapper
Former player Melissa Klapper played her first game in March 20 episode. She also continued her winning streak in the latest episode.
In the first round, the categories were “Made In Pennsylvania, To The Mountaintop!, The 1980s, AKA, It’s A Joke, 4-Letter “V”erbs.”
All three players played great in the first round. The new player beat one-day champion Melissa in this segment. Charlotte Diffendale won her first Double Daily early in the game. She came up with a total of 10 correct answers and one wrong answer, while another new player Brandon Anderson came in second with 10 correct and 3 incorrect answers. Melissa came in third place with six correct answers. The $1,000 difference separated the players in the first round.
The scores are Charlotte at $4,600, Brandon at $4,200 and Melissa at $3,600.
In the second round of Episode hosted by Ken JenningsCategories include “TV and Movie City, Books, The Future Is Now, 2 Word Glossary, Life Sciences, Etymology, I Love a Cuneiform Man.”
Melissa crawls back into the game when she gives the maximum number of correct answers and there are no wrong answers in the Double Jeopardy round. With two daily Doubles matches in this round, one went to Charlotte and the other went to Melissa. The second one took the lead with her score of $22,800, while the new players couldn’t get past the $15,000 and $10,000 mark. Charlotte came in second with a score of $14,000 and Brandon earned $9,000.
The Final Jeopardy round was unimpressive as no player answered the final question. While Brandon bet all of his winnings and went home with zero, Melissa only bet $5,201. Charlotte gave up about half of her post-lost earnings Last round and stay in second place.
Therefore, Melissa Klapper won Risk! Today.
Danger at last! today’s results
Last question in March 21 episode under the category “Middle Ages Places”. The clue, aka the question, reads:
“One of the participants in the 1170 events at this place said, ‘Let us go, knights; he won’t rise again.’”
The correct answer to the last clue is “Canterbury, England.”
No player gave the correct answer in the last round. Melissa wrote “Paris,” while Brandon and Charlotte guessed “Holy Tomb” and “Hasting,” respectively.
