A new episode of Risk! Season 39 aired on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, featuring three players competing for the big win.
The players include the three-day champion Emmett Stanton, and two new players – Christopher Pennant and Martha Bath. Christopher is a sports journalist from Chicago, Illinois, and Martha is a retired CPA from Seattle, Washington.
Emmett, a freelance writer from Baltimore, maintained the show’s three-day winning streak. His first win was against the winner five days Luigi de Guzman. The returning champ made a total of $72,600 from his three-day win.
The writer took a high risk in the last round by betting big, but this time, he tries to play it safe.
Of today Risk! winner, Martha Bath
Emmett was only able to sustain his winning streak in three games when a new player named Martha Bath beat the writer in his fourth day on the game.
In the latest episode, the first-round categories include “Lakes & Rivers, If It Quacks Like A Doc, Shoes !, Crossword Clues” J, “Great American Pairs, Budweiser & Sports.”
The game starts on a good note for new players. Christopher Pennant led the first round when he answered 20 questions correctly and scored 6,800 USD. Martha gave 15 correct answers and received $5,600, while three-day champion Emmett came in third place with nine correct answers and collected $2,400.
In the second round, the categories were “Emperor, 2 Books in 1, People and Places, Belief System, Modern Western, 4 Consonants in a Row.”
The Double Jeopardy round was a tense segment. While it initially looked like Martha would win this round, the returning champion found the Daily Double. His points went up to $22,000, and Martha made $15,400. Christopher landed in third place with $10,800 when he gave six wrong answers compared to his other players, who got only one wrong answer.
The The Ultimate Jeopardy Contest The inning ended Emmett’s winning streak as he played it safe and Martha followed through on his previous game’s tactics. Christopher, on the other hand, ends up with zero dollars.
In the final round, Martha was the only one with the correct answer and therefore won her bet equal to the sum she earned from the first and second rounds. Emmett bet a calculated amount, thinking he would win the round and surpass Martha’s total. Unfortunately, the freelancer’s last answer is incorrect.
Thus, Martha Bath won Risk! today.
