Why Kim Kardashian broke up with Pete Davidson: She was ‘totally exhausted’
Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson announced their split this week after less than a year of dating. A source said Page six that at the heart of the breakup was their age difference.
“Pete is 28 and Kim is 41 – they’re in very different places at the moment,” the insider explained. “Pete is completely spontaneous and impulsive and wants her to fly to New York, or wherever he is for a moment. But Kim has four children and it’s not so easy. She needs to focus on the kids.”
While Davidson is certainly busy as a working actress and comedian, Kardashian has plenty of responsibilities beyond her role as a mother, like her lead role on Hulu’s The Kardashians and several businesses, including her recently launched SKIMS line. The beauty was “completely exhausted from this relationship and the other things going on in her life.”
In addition to her regular responsibilities, there is a lot of stress coming from her ex-husband, Kanye West. Although he’s gotten less attention lately, West has been very public about his disapproval of Kardashian’s new relationship for a while.
The insider said: “When Kim is with other people, Kanye can cause problems with the kids. He tries to divide and conquer. He can’t get away with it… Kim is a truly devoted mother, and her children will always be first. She wants and needs harmony in her family and in her life.”
The former couple connected for the first time on set Saturday night live, and there was even a sketch in which they shared a kiss on stage. Soon after, they started dating and it seems like things are getting more serious in recent months. Kardashian recently flew to Australia to visit Davidson while he was filming a new movie. They’ve both been working on seeing each other since they started seeing each other in October 2021, flying from Los Angeles to New York, but it seems that effort has become overwhelming.
