‘You look like Drake’s son’: Young Edmonton hits TikTok

A young Edmonton became a TikTok star after being compared to the son of Canadian rapper Drake, Adonis Graham.

Someone pointed out that Yemaya Azinia-Merchant bears a resemblance to Drake’s young son, and photos comparing the two quickly went viral on social media. As of Friday, it has had more than 1.2 million views since it was posted on Wednesday.

In fact, their similarities even caught the attention of Drake himself.

The 15-year-old boy says that having a famous doppelganger is a wild ride.

“I downloaded TikTok a week ago and I made a video that could get 50,000 likes, then I made this video in response to a comment on that video and it blew up.”

Azinia-Merchant said: ‘I didn’t even know Drake had a son, so I didn’t know I looked like this son because I didn’t even know he existed until someone commented. “But when my sister showed me the picture, I felt like, it’s crazy.”

Azinia-Merchant is a fan of Drake’s music and when he, along with rapper Lil Yachty, watches their video, it’s a great feeling.

“I just started shaking, I went crazy, screaming, ‘did they really watch the video?’ It’s really crazy because you wouldn’t think something like that would happen in such a short time because I downloaded TikTok a week ago and for the likes of Lil Yacty and Drake the video is surreal. It just feels great.

“I listen to his music. When God’s Plan debut, I was crazy about that song. Our school had a rap battle and the teachers did it and then I just dedicated to that song for a while. “

Azinia-Merchant is a budding filmmaker and hopes this boost to their TikTok followers will help build a career in the future.

“I’m looking to increase my TikTok followers because I’m in the entertainment industry with movies, so I thought this was a good way to promote that and build a larger following. You always have those TikToks that have millions of likes and millions of views and you just think – oh what would that be like on the other side. “

Azinia-Merchant is excited about what can grow from this internet fame and has a message for Drake.

“Since I look like your child, I’d love to get some child support.”
