Zendaya’s appearance at the gala on the same day Diversity published a new interview with her and Andrew Garfield. Garfield was also present at the Time 100 Gala last night.
She admitted in the interview that she couldn’t picture herself as a singer because there were no boundaries. “I was like I didn’t know if I could be a pop star,” she said. “That’s because as an actor, I have to have a degree of anonymity, which I really like. And I can organize my everything, whatever it is, through a character and no one needs to know about it. While in other forms and other means, it’s always up to you. ”
She also thinks about why she loves acting so much. “I have the most amazing job,” she said. “I love my job very much. But sometimes you’re like – I dress for a living and I don’t want to take myself too seriously because I feel like there are people doing things that are so much more important than us. ” She added that despite this, “I think for me serving the healing of others through my work means that what I am doing makes sense.”
